About Joel Stoehr

Joel Stoehr is an Assistant Professor of Design at Parsons School of Design and the former Director of the BFA Product Design Program within the School of Constructed Environments. Stoehr maintains a studio practice as a visual artist and designer. Selected exhibitions include Peirogi Gallery, Brooklyn, NY; Randolph Macon College, Ashland, VA; Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.; and Rare Gallery in NY, NY. Stoehr received a BFA in painting from Maryland Institute College of Art in 1998 and an MFA in sculpture from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2001, and studied in 2001 at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Skowhegan, ME. Stoehr assisted on construction projects with the Parsons Design Workshop from 2005-2009, and acted as Construction Faculty for the Parsons Design Workshop from 2009-2014 and Director of Design Build Projects for the School of Constructed Environments at Parsons from 2016 to 2019.
